Han Baole, deputy secretary-general of the China Polyurethane Association,`s report on the [Application of Polyurethane in Automobiles" describes the wide application of polyurethane materials in the automobile industry, providing automobiles with high efficiency, safety, comfort, energy saving and environmental protection; and expounding the future development Trend: Fiber-reinforced polyurethane composites, TPU and TPU composites, water-based and solvent-free polyurethane adhesives and coatings are the future development trends.



Zhu Yi, senior director of the Materials Research Institute of FAW Group Corporation, made "Application of Lightweight Automotive Powertrain and Pipeline (Application of Nylon and Thermoplastic Elastomer in Engine, Battery and Pipeline)". She pointed out that whether it is traditional passenger cars, heavy commercial vehicles, new energy vehicles, and smart connected vehicles, all have different demands for lightweight. The current automobile lightweight should be integrated in design, manufacturing, material technology and other aspects through optimization design, functional configuration optimization, improvement of structural strength, material technology and other aspects. The main approaches include: optimized design, functional configuration optimization, improvement of structural strength, material technology, etc. Among them, the material technology includes light alloys such as aluminum-magnesium-titanium, high-strength steel, polyurethane materials and other high-performance engineering plastics and composite materials, and foamed honeycomb materials.



Zhu Furong, deputy general manager of the Automotive Lightweight Department of Sinochem International, made a report entitled "Lightweight Materials---Industrial Reform Leading New Technologies". He pointed out that "lightweight technology" and "safe interior environment" are the two focus of the automotive field, which will accelerate the development of lightweight vehicles. The adoption of lightweight and higher-performance alternative materials and new molding processes has become the mainstream of automobile development. At present, low-density PP materials, long fibers, carbon fiber reinforced materials, halogen-free flame-retardant materials, low-VOC green environmental protection materials, and spray-free ABS materials have become the five major lightweight materials in the automotive field. The lightweight application technology of non-metallic materials for vehicles includes the application of plastic instead of steel and aluminum alloy materials, the application of plant fiber materials, the application of high-rate foaming materials, the application of thin-walled materials, the application of low-density materials, and the application of micro-foaming materials.



Zhang Mingming, director of the Ningbo High Performance Materials Research Institute of Wanhua Group, gave a report entitled "Development Trends of Modified Materials for Vehicles and Solutions for Automotive Lightweight Materials". He said that in 2018, global plastic production was about 340 million tons, China`s plastic production was 80 million tons, and Europe`s output was 60 million tons. In 2018, the global production of modified plastics was about 54 million tons, and China`s output was about 17.83 million tons. Sex rate increased to 22.2%. In the future, my country's modified plastics industry still has a lot of room for development. Except for high-end plastics and some special engineering plastics, the plastics industry will be in an environment where supply exceeds demand for a long time.
