After the founding of New China, the cumulative output of plastic products has exceeded 1 billion tons.
In 2018, enterprises above designated size in the plastic products industry across the country completed a cumulative output of 60,421,500 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.10%, and has become the world's largest country in plastic production and consumption. As of October 2018, the total number of patent applications in China's plastics processing industry (including resins, additives, processes, machinery and molds) is 434,994, which is much higher than 76189 in Japan, 69460 in the United States, 33,184 in South Korea and Europe. Of the 15012 pieces, it demonstrates the positive and vigorous development trend of China`s plastics processing industry.
Zhu Wenwei said that at present, China's plastics processing industry is in a critical stage of transformation and upgrading. The development of the industry will shift from a scale-incremental extensive development mode to a quality-efficient intensive growth, from a high-speed growth stage to a high-quality development stage.
